Alone    a lone voice speaking in a room

a changing room    changing and trying on

clothes with the intent to make them yours

to believe they’re yours if and only if

they fit    if they fit the body fit the intention

fit the intention of making them your own

as in trying on a voice    a voice that is not yours

but intended to assist in finding a voice

in finding a room to change the voice to

find the intention of changing in a room    alone.

a place to write and leave

the poem return to the place

the poem’s place     wait there

a waiting     a place to wait

a place to leave return to

is the finding of the place
