  • Jackie, Babe Ruth, and Lou Gehrig all had nicknames. What do they mean?  How well do they fit?  Do you or any of your friends have nicknames?
  • Draw a picture about the story and write a letter to one of the people in the story.
  • Design a baseball card for Jackie Mitchell.
  • What if the baseball comissioner had not made Jackie quit?
  • Play baseball at recess or in PE.
