STATISTICAL ANALYSIS OF OXYGEN CONSUMPTION DATA
ONE-WAY ANALYSIS OF VARIANCE
Conclusion:
There was no significant difference between treatment means (P < 0.05 is required for statistical significance).
Pair-wise comparison of means using Dunnett's Test:
Critical mean differences: P0.05 = 23.74
Conclusions:
PTU mean is not significantly different from control (P > 0.05).
Thyroxine mean is not significantly different from control (although it was very close).

TWO-WAY ANALYSIS OF VARIANCE
Conclusions:
There is no significant difference between initial treatment means.
There are highly significant differences between weeks.
There is a significant interaction between treatment and weeks.
Thyroxine-treated rats lost weight (P < 0.05).
