• Write an essay (5 pages, 15% of your grade) comparing the early modern (Tudor- Stuart) view of two English monarchs. Using at least four works printed before 1700 (pamphlets, plays, broadsides, books), discuss what they found most important about these monarchs. What were their strengths? Weaknesses? How did the two differ in their view? What do they not discuss? Use at least three of the secondary and reference works suggested (forthcoming).
