Recall that the two temperature scales are connected by

T_F = (⁹/₅) T_C + 32

since we need to convert from Celsius to Fahrenheit, we need

 

T_F = (⁹/₅) T_C + 32

T_F = (⁹/₅) (42) + 32

T_F = 75.6 + 32

T_F = 107.6^oF
