Current and Resistance
Superconductors
As the temperature decreases, the resistance of most materials also decreases. However, for some materials, the resistance suddenly goes to zero. Such materials are known as superconductors. For most superconducting materials, this transition occurs at temperatures very close to absolute zero.
FermiLab has superconducting magnets and is clearly the worlds largest user of or source of superconducting materials -- and of liquid helium used to cool them!
