Rotational Kinetic Energy
For linear motion, we wrote the KE as
KE = (1/2) m v2 In a similar manner, for rotational motion, we now write the KE as
KE = (1/2) I 2 where I is the "moment of inertia" or the "rotational mass" and is the angular velocity.
