Wave Motion
Think of a baseball being thrown from one place to another. In contrast, energy--or information or a "signal"--can move along a rope but without mass being transferred from one end of the rope to the other. This is the idea of wave motion.
Amplitude is the maximum displacement from equilibrium.
Wavelength is the distance between the waves.
velocity = frequency x wavelength
