Weight, Apparent Weight, and Weightlessness

Weight is the force of gravity.

When the floor or the ground or a seat pushes up on us, that is the force we feel. We may call that the apparent weight.

If there is an acceleration, this apparent weight may be different from our normal weight.

In "free fall" our apparent weight is zero.
