Charleston Middle School
History
I came to CJHS in 1968 as a teacher and
coach. I soon became the assistant principal and later became
principal. Except for some years out of education, most of my
experience is at CMS.
Nature of Business
I am the principal of the middle school. I
am in charge of 560 students and 50 staff members. It is my
responsibility to oversee the curriculum, facilities, and budget of
the school.
Qualities & Skills Needed for
Employment
Competent, honest, hard working,
dedicated, likes kids, team player, and cooperative.
Impact of Changing
Technologies
Allows for more information to students
and staff. Provides assistance for teachers. Opens school to the
outside world and brought it into the classroom.
Vision for 2020
All classrooms will have telephones,
computers, and access to the Internet. Students will carry lap top
computers with them like a "trapper." Grades and attendance will be
put into their own computer and downloaded to the office. Money for
schools will need to be increased drastically.
