Showplace 8 has only
been in business for 2 years. It was originally in downtown Mattoon,
IL, but Kerasotes built a more modern place with better picture and
sound.

Showplace 8 is a movie
theater. The service they give is a good time away from life and
work.

Showplace 8 you must be honest and hard working. You must also be
very customer oriented.

The internet has
increased our business and made it easier for people to find out show
times before heading out the door. The information on the internet
about the movie make it easier to decide if you want to see a movie.
It has more knowledge about movies before they come out than a person
could have even after seeing the movie.
Vision for
2020
Presently, Showplace 8
is in the middle of a corn/bean field. We feel by the year 2020 that
Mattoon and Charleston will have grown together and there will be
many businesses around us. Hopefully, Showplace 8 will have expanded
and still be doing good business. Showplace 8 has ways of making
movies fun and people won't just stay at home. People might have ways
of buying tickets over the internet-reserve seats like at sporting
events. We (Showplace) may also have an electronic banking system (no
cash) so they won't have to go to the bank for deposits or get change
for the next day.
