Today I was assigned the task of researching Antarctic animals. First we set off to an island just two-thirds of a mile away. After reaching the island my fellow scientists started making observations and writing down important information. While they recorded the data I randomly chose a penguin for my crew to test. The penguin was tagged and some measurements were taken. The measurements were taken to determine if the penguin was male or female. The male penguin is larger than the penguin of the opposite gender. Tracking devices were placed on the penguins back. The penguins will be tracked for weeks and perhaps months. After we were finished we boarded the Polar Duke and headed out to sea.
