Labor Unions and Wages
Three approaches to increase the wages of union workers:
- Organize workers and negotiate a higher wage—restricting membership
- Promote the products produced by union workers; labor demand is derived demand
- Increase the amount of labor required to produce a given quantity of output—a practice known as “featherbedding”
