Minh Jr. graduated from the University of Chicago in June of 1998. For two years, he worked as a research associate for two professors there. In September of 2000, he started the M.A. program in Economics at Boston University and completed it in May of 2001.

Minh Jr. has accepted a part-time teaching position at Robert Morris College in downtown Chicago. More recently, he has begun working as a market analyst for Takeda, the largest pharmaceutical company in Japan, which is seeking to expand into the U.S. market, having had a branch in Lincolnshire, a northern suburb of Chicago, Illinois over the past three years.
