Two Degrees for the Price of 1.178
Do you want to stand out from the crowd? When you look for a teaching job, do you want to be distinctive? Here's one way to do it: have two bachelor's degrees. At Eastern Illinois University, you can earn two bachelor's degrees in History and History with Teacher Certification in Social Science without going broke or taking forever to do it.
Students who complete two academic majors, 150 semester hours, and 60 semester hours of upper-division credit, qualify for two bachelor's degrees. All you need to do to take advantage of this opportunity is to complete eight additional courses in history beyond the requirements for the major in History with Teacher Certification, and apply for graduation as a dual degree student. With proper planning, you can earn your two degrees in five years, including a semester of student teaching.
Instead of finishing your degree in December and hanging around the house trying to pick up substitute teaching jobs, finish it in May and spend the summer relaxing. You'll go on the job market at the same time, but with two degrees instead of one!
