Little Trojans in Antarctica - Assessment
Project Assessment
As a final assessment of knowledge gained, attitudes changed, and appreciation developed for this most unique location on Earth, students at Charleston Jr. High School submitted writing samples. Many students chose to compose journal entries in which they each assumed the role of a member of the Long-Term Ecological Research (LTER) team working in the Antarctic region. They were to discuss their assigned tasks and events of a typical day along with steps taken to live and work in such a hostile environment. Below are selected samples of journal entries. ( Images used in these documents were taken from the Live From Antarctica II and Virtual Antarctica web sites. Photos by Ann Hawthorne are copyrighted and used with permission. )
